Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Our company Sells with Shopify in a DTC & B2B capacity online & in brick-and-mortar stores. We hope to update and revamp our existing website to attract more customers and to optimize tools and efficiencies.

We are currently working on a migration of data for our B2B business and need to ensure continuity with our 300 + B2B clients.

We would like to work with students to optimize our website and migrate to a new B2B system

that is easy to maintain while providing an appealing interface for users. This will be achieved through common third party apps such as Spark Layer and a few other tools available on Shopify.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Auditing the website for noticeable improvements
  • Improving and testing UX
  • Migrating Sales data to a new B2B interface.
  • Optimizing the site for cost efficiency and usability.
  • Providing training on updating and maintaining the website.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Testing prototypes with customers and refining ideas with feedback.
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of website platform options
  • Understand the needs of a b2b business
  • Identification of the most suitable apps to work in shopify
  • Recommendations for website maintenance

Bonus steps would include:

  • Testing the website with users and making improvements based on user input

Final deliverables should include

  • A website prototype.
  • A final report.
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our current products and website design
  • Our customer and industry insights
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
