Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Number of positions available: 1 team of 6 persons (mix of individual and teamwork)

We have created an LGS Ecosystem which consists of Postgres databases, Arduino Hardware, Grow Units and Grow Rooms to create an Indoor Vertical Farming environment.

We are looking for a team to help Manage the development of the EcoSystem.

Our interns will be working together in teams that include hardware engineers, science analysts, and marketing folks. Giving everyone the whole perspective on how broad a company is.

During this internship, students are treated as equals. We value their opinions and ask them to present their opinions to discuss the topics and potentially adapt our marketing plan accordingly. The main benefit of seeing all stages of development is giving interns the freedom to develop their skill set.

Skills students will develop:

  • Project management
  • Communication in a virtual environment
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira and AWS
  • Taking responsibility
  • Presentation skills for a business environment.

Some example deliverables that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:

  • Creation/improving the databse
  • Creation/improving the apps
  • Instruction video of how to use the software

It is also possible to reach us via email instead of responding via Riipen at Jacek@localgrownsalads.com.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

We have a standardized product development system which we use on all our projects.

Its based on Agile Project management - and we will teach you the process.

Many interns have used it to get full time jobs.

The EcoSystem is divided into 13 different subsystems and we have Product Manager for each of them

The Product Manager is responsible for organizing and running the team working on a subsystem

  • Manage the Team Activities
  • Manage and maintain (with the team) the subsystem dataflow
  • Manage and maintain (with the team) the subsystem Roadmao
  • Manage and maintain (with the team) the Jira Board for tasks
  • Interact with the other team Project Managers to identify issues and resolve integration problems
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Daily mentorship with discord and regular formal design reviews

Planning meetings

Technology like email and other stuff
