The main goal for the project is to design a SaaS platform for B2B institutional/corporate greenhouse gas accounting and reporting. We want to streamline the user experience as much as possible- minimize the number of clicks and the data that are required, and that feels secure for users as they input their information. There will be an accompanying mobile app geared toward the individual that should look and feel similar, but will not be the priority focus of this project. The project will involve several different steps for the learners, including:

- Understanding the requirements for greenhouse gas accounting and reporting.

- Designing a user-friendly SaaS platform for data input and reporting.

- Testing the platform design for functionality and user experience.

By the end of the project, learners should have completed the following tasks:

1. Project Plan- Identify goals, milestones, and set a timeline for the project
2. Review requirements and audit existing designs- Familiarize themselves with the existing product to understand the requirements, design work, and feedback that already exists, and to identify gaps to be filled in the next stage.
3. Competitive research - analysis of direct or indirect competitors' design strengths and weaknesses, with actionable recommendations
4. UX design - synthesize findings from the audit and competitive analysis, while drawing inspiration from knowledge of best practices, to inform the design of the platform dashboard and data submission experience. Begin by creating wireflows and then iterate to bring your designs to a higher level of fidelity.
5. Testing and iteration - as time allows, test the design recommendations with users and iterate based on feedback.
6. Finalize- Handoff all deliverables and findings in a package that allows for your work to be easily understood and incorporated into future projects. Include your recommendations for next steps, including any considerations for the future mobile app and accompanying website design.
