What is the main goal for this project?

Commission Plan Documents

  • Written commission plan documents for independent contractors for sales engineers
  • Written recommendations of risks, opportunities, and potential improvements to the commission plan
  • Written long commission plan documentation for payroll and finance/accounting
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
  1. Define the sales engineer role versus other account manager or sales manager position
  2. Create splits and sliding rates based on project/job profitability
  3. Create Monthly payouts (Understand the difference between payouts and spot awards)
  4. Create Draws and Reserves (Understand draws and reserves)
  5. Include timing mechanisms to deal with holdbacks and projects that take between six and eighteen (18) months to complete with an additional six months for the holdback to resolve
  6. Adhere to State of California and for independent contractor (Learn how to avoid creating an employee relationship)
