Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

The main goal for the project is to expand the SustainaBoost Program (SBP) by securing agreements with more organizations and increasing participation rates to maximize collaboration and promote environmental protection initiatives.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

- Researching local areas and organizations to identify potential partners for the SBP expansion.

- Creating effective PowerPoint presentations and proposals to introduce SBP to potential partner organizations.

- Pitching the proposals to various associations and organizations to secure agreements.

- Collaborating with as many associations as possible during the project period to expand the SBP.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

- Research report on local areas and organizations with potential for SBP expansion.

- PowerPoint presentations and proposals for introducing SBP to potential partner organizations.

- Pitching records and feedback from various associations and organizations.

- Agreements secured with new partner organizations for SBP expansion.

Final deliverables:

- Comprehensive report detailing the research, proposals, and agreements secured during the project period.

- Presentation summarizing the project outcomes and future plans for SBP expansion.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

To ensure the successful completion of the project and provide comprehensive support to the learners, the following strategies will be implemented:

  1. Dedicated Staff Mentorship: Assign a dedicated staff member or team from Innovate Landfill Solution Canada (ILS) who will act as mentors to the learners. These mentors will have expertise in environmental science, digital marketing, data analysis, and project management to provide guidance, answer questions, and offer feedback throughout the project duration.
  2. Regular Check-ins and Progress Reviews: Schedule weekly or bi-weekly virtual meetings for project updates, progress reviews, and Q&A sessions. This will help keep the project on track and allow learners to seek clarification and guidance on their tasks.
  3. Access to Tools and Technology: Provide learners with access to necessary software and online tools required for data analysis, digital marketing, content creation, and project management. This may include analytics platforms, design software, social media management tools, and project collaboration platforms (Slack, Shortcut/Trello).
  4. Comprehensive Data Access: Ensure learners have access to all relevant data needed for their analysis and project tasks. This includes participant engagement data, recycling rates, feedback from event participants, and any other data collected during the pilot EcoJackpot events.
  5. Resource Library: Develop a digital resource library containing relevant research papers, articles, case studies, and educational materials on recycling practices, sustainability strategies, and digital marketing best practices to support the learners' research and project development.
  6. Feedback Mechanism: Implement a structured feedback mechanism where learners can submit their work for review and receive constructive feedback from their mentors and ILS staff. This will help them refine their deliverables and learn from practical experience.
  7. Flexible Communication Channels: Establish open and flexible communication channels, such as email, messaging apps, and video conferencing, to ensure learners can easily reach out to their mentors and ILS staff for support whenever needed.

By providing these support and mentorship resources, ILS commits to creating an enriching learning environment that not only aids in the successful completion of the project but also contributes to the professional growth and development of the learners.

About the company

ILS Canada leads in promoting environmental progress through the efficient collection of recyclables that were previously considered non-recyclable and disposed of as waste. It accomplishes this by organizing educational events that encourage communities and participants to actively contribute to the recycling circular economy, driving innovation in the sorting of recyclable materials.
