Details

Inner Compass Well-being is seeking to enhance its wellness app by integrating an electronic medical record (EMR) system. The goal of this project is to develop a seamless integration that allows for efficient data management and retrieval, ensuring that client health information is easily accessible and secure. Students will apply their knowledge of health information systems technologies to design and implement this integration. They will also formulate strategies to ensure compliance with PIPPEA regulations, considering ethical standards and practices in handling sensitive health data. The project will involve tasks such as analyzing current app architecture, designing the EMR integration framework, and testing for functionality and security. This project provides an opportunity for students to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting, focusing on both technical and ethical aspects of health information management.

Deliverables

The project deliverables include a detailed integration plan outlining the EMR system's architecture within the existing wellness app. Students will also provide a compliance report addressing PIPPEA regulations and ethical considerations. Additionally, a prototype of the integrated system will be developed and tested, accompanied by a comprehensive testing report highlighting functionality and security assessments.
