- What is the main goal for this project?

The main goal for the project is to develop a chatbot based on large language models that can be used to produce 20K-word feature length film screenplays. The bot must be able to understand narrative structure and users should be able to specify specific story elements that occur at particular times in screenplays.
This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Researching and understanding large language models and natural language processing.
- Developing a chatbot interface that can take user input and generate screenplay text.
- Training the chatbot to understand narrative structure and specific story elements.
- Testing the chatbot with sample user input and refining its capabilities based on feedback.
- What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

Ken Van Camp is an experienced storyteller and holder of a MFA in Professional Screenwriting. Ken will provide specific direction relating to story elements and how the bot should function. He will be available to answer questions, give guidance, and provide feedback to student(s).
- What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?

In order to complete this project, students can self-teach, but it is beneficial to be familiar with:
- Natural language processing and language models.
- Chatbot development and machine learning.
- Understanding of screenplay structure and narrative elements.
Nice to haves for students include
- Experience with large language models such as GPT-3.
- Familiarity with film industry and screenplay writing.
Students will be expected to research and learn more about this above as the project goes along.
