Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

We would like 1-4 students to assist with marketing and administrative tasks to host the annual Local Stream Qualifying Round for youth music students. Tasks include creating content for social media posts to promote the virtual, processing registrations, hosting virtual adjudication workshop with professional musicians, and preparing a Showcase Video of performances.

We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

To accomplish this, we expect the student[s] will:

  • prepare social media posts highlight the professional musicians serving on the jury panel
  • assist with processing registrations by vetting the repertoire selections to ensure they are eligible, standardizing formatting in the database, merging data into templates to create the program, certificates and adjudication sheets
  • create class composites to promote the event on social media before it begins and composites of winners after the event
  • Prepare the Showcase Video by creating slides of the adjudicators and competitors; record the emcee portions; extract winning selection from the submitted performances

Registration closes June 3 with the adjudication workshops being scheduled June 13-15, and the Showcase Video premiering on June 17. Students will need to be able to be focused on this project as it is a short turn around.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will work closely with the FCMF Executive Director or Marketing Task Force Lead who is supervising and available for questions. Ongoing communication will take place through Slack, email, and phone to assess progress, review content and make adjustments to the students' tasks and duties if necessary.
