Project scope
- What is the main goal for this project?
-
PlanetBio is a global hub for life science news, jobs, and community.
We are seeking interns to compose articles on Life Sciences-related topics and current events in the Biotech/Pharma industry, for posting on the www.planet.bio website. Interns may also perform outreach to Biotech/Pharma companies for creation of newsletters on topics of immediate relevance to the Biotech/Pharma sector.
- What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
-
- The workload will involve creating 5 to 10 articles, newsletters, and blog posts per week
- Content for the articles we are reporting will be drawn from FierceBiotech, Fierce Pharma, Biospace, BioBuzz, and other outlets for information on Life Sciences sector.
- The PlanetBio Co-founders may also provide topics for article composition, style guide, editing and proofreading functions.
- The article content should be as topical as possible. Subject material might include news on M&As in Biotechnology, funding for scaling and startup Biotech companies, new FDA approvals, adverse events in clinical trials, and any other topics of relevance to the Life Sciences.
- The content writer will select eye-catching headlines for the articles.
- The article headlines, along with two or three "keywords" will be forwarded to an intern who is tasked with generating graphics for the articles.
- The content writer will be using an online content generator app (we were using Tinywow, but other programs may be acceptable).
- After generating the article, the content writer will run the content through Grammerly, and make edits/modifications as needed.
