Details

OSAI is seeking to develop a new abaya collection that emphasizes quality, wearability, and production-readiness. The project involves creating a series of technical flat sketches and design variations that will serve as the foundation for this collection. The goal is to translate the creative vision into precise, production-ready designs that can be easily understood and executed by the manufacturing team. This project provides an opportunity for learners to apply their knowledge of fashion design principles, technical sketching, and garment construction. The focus will be on ensuring that the designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical and feasible for production. By completing this project, learners will gain valuable experience in bridging the gap between creative design and practical application in the fashion industry.

Deliverables

The deliverables for this project include a series of technical flat sketches and design variations for the abaya collection. Each sketch should clearly depict the design details, including seams, stitching, and embellishments. Additionally, a brief design rationale should accompany each sketch, explaining the choices made in terms of quality, wearability, and production-readiness. The final submission should include a digital portfolio of all sketches and design variations.

OSAI Atelier is a luxury abaya brand that blends timeless elegance with ethical craftsmanship. Rooted in modest fashion and inspired by cultural heritage, each piece is designed with meticulous attention to detail — from silhouette to stitching — to empower women who value both refinement and meaning in their wardrobe.

Our vision is to reimagine the abaya not just as a garment, but as a statement of personal style, cultural pride, and conscious living. We work closely with local artisans in Doha to ensure each piece is made with care, using high-quality fabrics and thoughtful techniques.
