Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

The goal of this project is to build a backend application to read information from various sensors, publish it to a ROS2 environment, write scripts to control a UAV using ROS2 MAVpy, create a process for recording data to a cloud database using ROS2, help prepare data for visualization, and help create a frontend application to view data from various GPS locations.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

- Understanding of ROS2 environment and MAVpy

- Ability to read information from various sensors

- Ability to publish data to a ROS2 environment

- Ability to write scripts to control a UAV using ROS2 MAVpy

- Ability to create a process for recording data to a cloud database using ROS2

- Ability to help prepare data for visualization

- Ability to help create a frontend application to view data from various GPS locations

Final deliverables should include:

- All source code.

- A written report explaining the design process and outcomes.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

Weekly meetings, one on one support.

We offer further opportunities to get involved with the company on a case by case basis.

What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?

In order to complete this project, students should be familiar with:

- ROS2 environment and MAVpy

- Programming languages such as Python and C++

- Cloud computing and database management

- Data visualization and analysis
