Project scope
- What is the main goal for this project?
-
Specific components that need built will be a 3.7v LiPo battery charger, an H-Bridge, completing and testing a custom Arduino and an ESP-32 board. Additionally a motor controller for a small wind turbine and several other green energy devices. All of this is for a Lego© compatible electronic building block system.
The main goal of this project is to build electronics boards, including PCBs and components. This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Researching and selecting components for the project.
- Designing a PCB layout for the project.
- Assembling the components on the PCB.
- Testing the project to ensure it meets the desired specifications.
- Troubleshooting any issues that arise.
- What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
-
By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:
- Understanding of the components and their functions.
- Ability to design a PCB layout.
- Ability to assemble components on the PCB.
- Ability to test the project and troubleshoot any issues.
Final deliverables should include:
- All source code.
- A written report explaining the design process and outcomes.
- A demonstration of the project working.

- How will you support learners in completing the project?
-
Much of the work in terms of general design of PCB's has been developed. All of these resources and tools and prototypes will be made available to the learner. Most components have been selected and just need refinement.
