Project scope

What is the main goal for this project?: Upper Edge manages over 700 units, tenants for approximately 375 separate real estate investors. As such, the field is extremely complex and due to the variety of issues a staff member deals with on a daily basis, it is sometimes difficult to see if the company is achieving its targets.
Our management software vendor has an open API for which we have been granted access. Our company would like to explore designing a prototype for a dashboard, either on a website or mobile app that our staff can see live data displaying our KPIs (key performance indicators), using the API to retrieve this information
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?: This will involve:
Determining the most efficient way to call the data from the database, after a thorough analysis of the database tables and structure
Testing to see if basic metrics can be retrieved, in the simplest graphical format (examples: Vacancy Rate for a certain period, number of leases signed, total number of maintenance issues created vs total number of maintenance issues closed, average length of time a tenant stays with the company, etc)
Work with a company representative to ensure the proper metrics are being displayed, then expand the categories
As time permits, design a graphical user interface that displays the metrics in an eye-pleasing format
As time permits, create separate dashboards for different departments

How will you support learners in completing the project?: Students will work directly with our Training Manager and Quality Assurance Department. There will be weekly check-in meetings, in addition to daily Zoom Q&A sessions.
