Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

The goal of this project is to design and build an autonomous drone with an ice engine that is capable of lifting 35kg. The drone must be safe, reliable, and able to achieve the desired flight performance metrics. This will be achieved through further refinement of the rough design ideas and incorporation the selected ice engine and electronic components. The research on thermal insulation materials will be utilized to ensure that the drone is capable of safe and reliable operation. A functional prototype will be assembled, tested, and adjusted as necessary. A comprehensive report will be produced detailing the design process, research findings, and final prototype specifications.

Research:

The research for this project has already been conducted on ice engines, electronic components, and thermal management techniques. The team has also researched safety protocols and regulations for flying drones in various environments. The research on thermal insulation materials will be utilized to ensure that the drone is capable of safe and reliable operation.

Design:

The drone's components and mechanical structure will be designed to incorporate the selected ice engine and electronic components. The team will use the rough design ideas, refine them, and create detailed specifications for the drone's components and mechanical structure. The design will be focused on safety, reliability, and performance, and will include the necessary sensors and systems to ensure autonomous flight.

Prototype:

A functional prototype of the drone will be assembled, tested, and adjusted as necessary to ensure that it is capable of autonomous flight and lifting 35kg. The prototype will be built to meet the design specifications and performance metrics and will incorporate the selected ice engine, electronic components, and thermal insulation materials.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
  1. Refine the rough design ideas and create detailed specifications for the drone's components and mechanical structure.
  2. Select and incorporate the already chosen ice engine and electronic components into the design.
  3. Utilize the research on thermal insulation materials to ensure the drone is capable of safe and reliable operation.
  4. Build a functional prototype of the drone that meets the design specifications and performance metrics.
  5. Test and adjust the prototype as necessary to ensure it is capable of autonomous flight and lifting 35kg.
  6. Produce a comprehensive report detailing the design process, research findings, and final prototype specifications.
  7. Present the final prototype and report to stakeholders and receive feedback for future improvements and modifications to the design.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will connect directly with the employer for mentorship and supervision throughout the project.
