Students will:
- Research best practices for secure cloud configurations in AWS and Azure.
- Identify common pitfalls affecting nonprofits and healthcare tech.
- Review infrastructure and provide secure configuration recommendations.
- Document a cloud deployment checklist that aligns with HIPAA and CIS benchmarks.
- Opportunity to deploy and implement recommendations.
Deliverables:
- A best practices guide (4–5 pages) with visuals and cloud-specific examples
- A deployment checklist for secure multi-cloud cloud configurations (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Cloud security through infrastructure as code
- Public-facing landing page documenting our organization's cloud security effort
Optional: Present findings or conduct a basic mock audit on test infrastructure (no real PHI)
Providing specialized, in-depth knowledge and general industry insights for a comprehensive understanding.
Sharing knowledge in specific technical skills, techniques, methodologies required for the project.
Direct involvement in project tasks, offering guidance, and demonstrating techniques.
Providing access to necessary tools, software, and resources required for project completion.
Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.

CuraJOY is a grassroots tech nonprofit that improves family interactions and reduces challenging behaviors by combining clinician-supervised AI/machine learning with proven science.
