Details

The project aims to develop a unified, secure, and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure for Altvis, Inc. / Woundscan, focusing on supporting both iOS and Web applications, including a new AI voice transcription service. The primary goal is to establish a HIPAA-compliant environment that ensures robust security for all data. This involves creating a secure cloud architecture that adheres to industry standards and best practices. Additionally, the project will involve setting up Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate deployments for both platforms. This will allow for efficient updates and maintenance, ensuring that the infrastructure can scale as needed while maintaining security and compliance. The project provides an opportunity for learners to apply their knowledge of cloud computing, security protocols, and DevOps practices in a real-world scenario.

This project's objective is to build the foundational cloud infrastructure that will power the entire Woundscan ecosystem. The goals are to design, deploy, and document a secure, scalable, and HIPAA-compliant AWS infrastructure that serves both our iOS and web applications. This is a critical project focused on creating a production-ready environment from the ground up, implementing security best practices for protecting sensitive patient data, and establishing automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and repeatable deployments. The final infrastructure must be auditable and resilient, forming the backbone of our commercial offering.

Deliverables

The deliverables for this project include a comprehensive documentation of the AWS cloud infrastructure design, detailing the security measures implemented to ensure HIPAA compliance. Additionally, the project will deliver a fully functional CI/CD pipeline for automated deployments of the iOS and Web applications. Learners will also provide a report outlining the scalability features and security protocols integrated into the infrastructure. This will ensure that the infrastructure is both secure and capable of supporting future growth.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Scripts: A complete set of Terraform or AWS CDK scripts to provision the entire cloud environment automatically.

Deployed AWS Environment: A live, configured, and secure AWS environment including VPC, networking, databases, and application servers.

Security & Compliance Documentation: A detailed document outlining all security configurations, data encryption policies (at-rest and in-transit), and access control measures. This includes a clear roadmap and evidence for achieving HIPAA compliance.

Functional CI/CD Pipelines: Automated pipelines for building, testing, and deploying both the web and mobile backend applications.

Monitoring and Logging Dashboard: A configured CloudWatch dashboard providing key metrics on application health, performance, and security-related events for audit purposes.
