Our company has hundreds of employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We would like to collaborate with students to understand how personality tests can be used to improve our human resources (HR) practices and gain recommendations for their implementation.

This will involve several different steps:

• Conducting background research on the personality tests and factors affecting teamwork.
• Assessing what personality combinations make for a high-functioning team.
• Analyzing how existing teams can work more cohesively, based on their personality types.
• Recommending areas of improvement in our HR practices.
• Surveying employees about the workplace culture.
• Defining what type of personality profile would be ideal for a set of new hires.

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

• Understanding of personality tests and teamwork variables
• Identification of ideal personality combinations in teams
• Recommendations for improved teamwork
• Recommendations for improved HR practices

Bonus steps would include:

• Understanding employee perspectives about the workplace atmosphere
• Defining an ideal personality profile for new hires

Final deliverables should include

• A final report.

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

• Our vision, mission, and values
• Our company’s personality testing practices
• Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
