My recent research projects can be described as (scientific computing) artificial intelligence algorithms and their applications (medical datasets including image datasets, climate change/wildfire datasets, financial datasets, engineering, and optimization problems). I finished my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at the University of Maryland (1996-2000). I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Management, McGill Univ. (2000-2002). I am a tenured full professor the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Thompson Rivers University (TRU), Kamloops, BC, Canada. Also, I am an Affiliate Researcher at the Waterloo Institute for Complexity and Innovation, University of Waterloo, ON, Canada. I have a strong record of post-secondary teaching, and supervising students and postdoctoral fellows. Also, I have maintained my NSERC discovery for ~20 years and started to apply grants to CIHR and Michael Smith Foundation (MSF), where I apply swarm intelligent algorithms (SIAs) with global optimization, industrial engineering, operations research, and data mining.

Deliverables

 In 2011, I had NSERC-Engage with Pacific Coast Information Systems, Vancouver, BC, to use Statistical Models for Social Network Analytics. We had huge data from social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), and the company had many questions. We successfully answered the questions with my team by analyzing the data using software R with Weka and some statistical models. In 2013, I engaged with another company in Vancouver to develop software for their clients related to the stock market and multi-period models in finance. Our data mining approaches and artificial intelligent algorithms can deal with various datasets from business, finance, and industrial datasets.

I and my team are interested in projects related to Dealing with all types of datasets (including text and images). Modelling and simulation. optimization, operation research, and developing software.
