Details

Is your organization experiencing a business challenge related to project management, human resources or marketing? Bring on learners from the University of East London to evaluate your current challenge, and provide actionable recommendations. Learners will work on one main project over the course of two semesters, connecting with you as needed via virtual communication tools.


Learners in this program/course will develop consultancy skills and undertake a live business challenge for employer. Learners will be allowed to work in a group (maximum of 6 students). Learners will be assigned a Project Supervisor to offer support guidance to develop their employability and technical business management skills, within a real work environment.


Deliverables

Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the students and the organization. 


Some final project deliverables might include: 

  1. A 10-15 minute presentation on key findings and recommendations
  2. Final Consultancy Project Report (6000 words)


Project Examples

Learners will work with your company in groups of up to 6, to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations based on their in-depth research and analysis.


Project activities that learners can complete may include, but are not limited to: 


  • Demonstrating practical knowledge and skills by devising an applied consultancy project document containing investigation planning and problem solving strategy.


  • Conducting consultancy work showcasing in depth knowledge and understanding of an Industry-based organisation in terms of its context, mission, scope and operation.


  • Analyzing complex Business and Management issues and provide recommendations based on evidence investigated.


  • Critically evaluating a project, and the particular challenges faced involving design, planning or implementation.


  • Carrying out employment-focused protocols and processes using appropriate employer resources, software and procedures.


  • Reviewing and monitoring progress and bringing the work tasks to successful completion to the satisfaction of the employer.


  • Producing a report based around the agreed development plan and a reflective work-based diary to evidence range of job competencies undertaken such as: technical design, independent judgement and responsibility, commercial awareness, health, safety and welfare, sustainable development, interpersonal skills / communication and professional commitment.

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a quick phone or virtual call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the experience.

Provide a contact person who's available for weekly/bi-weekly drop-ins to address learners’ questions as well as periodic messages over the duration of the project.

Provide an opportunity for learners to present their work and receive employer feedback.

Provide relevant information and/or data as needed for the project.
