Competitive Analysis
Our company has been serving thousands of customers for decades. We want to better understand how our target audience perceives our brand and competitors. This will help us develop clarity on our competitive advantages and optimize our marketing strategy. We would like to collaborate with students to conduct a competitive analysis of our business. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our company, products, and target market. Identifying current and potential future competitors. Creating a matrix identifying features that are similar and different between companies. Summarizing our competitive advantages and disadvantages relative to the competition identified. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Recommending how our company can differentiate itself through products / services and messaging.
Financial Business Plan
We are excited to be relaunching our business. With any launch, having a financial plan is one of the keys to success, and we would like to involve students in creating one for our new venture. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Learning about our business strategy from various employees to become familiar with our goals, mission, and products. Creating forecasts using Excel (or another financial software) for sales in the first year of operation and an income projection (conservative and aggressive). Working with our team to develop an expense budget. Conducting a break-even analysis timeline using financial projections. Reporting on projected assets and liabilities. Including visual comparisons such as graphs and charts to show the differences between the conservative and aggressive income projections.
Social Media Template Creation
Create 2-4 generic post templates for Facebook (parents and teachers), Instagram (students), and Twitter (business & industry) that reflect our brand. By reviewing our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, you will note that we currently use a generic template across all platforms. We would like to expand our template options as there are 4 distinct stakeholder groups that we want to reach, and each of these groups requires targeted messaging. Become familiar with our organization and the experiential learning opportunities we offer our students as a result of numerous partnerships with various business and industry representatives. Examine the raw data from the survey we distributed about career related vocabulary and how it is interpreted and used by our four stakeholder groups. Provide us with examples of what types of messages YOU would post if you were our social media coordinator. Submit 2-4 example posts for the 3 platforms. Be creative, there are no wrong answers. Your templates will be used to promote our awesome events and programs. Help us to develop powerful, impactful messaging that will result in the following: inspiring high school youth to explore careers and make informed decisions about their futures, informing their parents about programming available to their children, informing teachers so that they can encourage their students to get involved and recruiting business and industry representatives to get involved and showcase their occupations for students.
Develop an Indigenous Parenting 2-day workshop
We want students to help us create content aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. We are looking for a group, team, or class with diverse backgrounds, one or more being Indigenous. We want an interactive workshop on Indigenous Parenting on turtle Island. Our goal is to offer a workshop that can assist parents in having their children returned to communities & homes. We would love to include different teachings from different tribes and clans that the parents can use in raising their children & various ideas from parenting in the western world. This way, they can raise their children in both worlds. We have lots of information to pass on; you can do your research or a combination of both. You can combine slide presentations, breakout rooms, videos, etc. If you like the sound of our culture and are ready to tackle this challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
