Project scope
- What is the main goal for this project?
-
The goal of this project is to create a prototype of a sample collection system for Oxilight Inc. The prototype should be able to facilitate collecting samples from patients (Medical Device). This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Designing and developing a system for collecting samples.
- Developing mechanical drawings
- Suggesting the optimal manufacturing method.
- Sourcing potential manufacturers.
- Manufacturing a prototype and testing its performance.
- What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
-
By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:
- Understanding of the design and development process for a secure sample collection system.
- Understanding of user interface design principles.
- Ability to test and optimize the system for accuracy and performance.
- Ability to research and implement additional features that could improve the system.
Final deliverables should include:
- Mechanical drawings.
- A written report explaining the design process and outcomes.
- A demonstration of the system in action.
