I will be delighted to work with an intern to complete their internship hours. The student will have the opportunity to develop their skills and learn more about a topic of interest in the area of autism and supporting parents. In addition they will develop their presentation skills, relationship building, and an understanding of the process families go through when they are looking to support their child who may be autistic which will support them in their future career.
Specific supports can be determined with Professor Mitches to ensure students meet their requirements & complete the internship tasks. This may include but is not limited to:
* Regular meetings with student - to set & review goals and monitor project progress
* Trainings provided to student in the key areas of the Autism Waitlist Program
* Workshop training provided & in running workshop in the community
* Provision of co-working tools
Other supports to be determined with Professor Mitches as required.
About the company
The waitlist for an assessment or services is unreasonably long in Canada. The aim of Autism Waitlist is to have every paediatrician's office, doctor's office, and school to be able to provide parents with steps they can take to support their child while they are on the waitlist, and provide trainings, tools, and resources to help them.
