We are also seeking support in data collection and analysis. We want to use data to illustrate Black students' harm within the education and adjacent systems.
We need support in two areas:
1. Organizational Data Analysis
Parents of Black Children have data from all of our programs. We are looking for the following:
- To be able to pull it all together to tell the story of what Black students are experiencing within the education system.
- Quantitative/Qualitative
- Data Visualization
- How can we create mechanisms to collect data for our programs and initiatives that give us the most fruitful and useful data sets
2. Provincial Data Collection
- We would like to identify the experience and needs of Black families across the province as it relates to Anti-Black Racism
- We want to understand the regional differences in experiences if any
- Quantitative data analysis and visualization
- Qualitative data analysis and visualization
- Analysis of the data we are seeing in the tool (a breakdown of what we are seeing)
- Key findings
- Ability to paint a picture of anti-Black racism across each Board/region
- Data visualization - the ability to share the data in a way that is impactful and understandable to the general public
- Content Analysis
- Narrative Analysis
- Ability to use the data and qualitative data collected to tell a story of anti-Black racism across the province
Students will receive personalized training to begin the project. Weekly meetings will be held online to answer questions, provide support, and engage in feedback conversations. Additional support and communication will take place via email.
