To develop an overall youth recruitment strategy for participation in our 2024 national summer leadership program that goes beyond our existing recruitment base (organizations and individuals). This summer's program will be held in Montgomery Alabama and will focus on voting and civil rights.



Deliverables



  • Research and report on new markets for youth summer program recruitment.
  • Research strategies of similar youth leadership organizations to reach young people that would be a match for their program.
  • Comprise a list of organizations (with contact information) that would be likely to reach youth appropriate for the summer program (Boys and Girls Clubs, etc.).
  • Comprise a list of places or publications (with contact information) to advertise or publicize the summer leadership program opportunity.
  • Meet regularly with Program director and other staff to be oriented on the organization and program and our existing recruitment strategies


Mentorship

Students will work directly with the Program and Admin staff for assistance and direction throughout the project. Schedule to be determined with the student(s). Staff will share existing strategies and work with learners to augment the existing outreach strategy.

The Encampment organizes summer programs and year-round follow-up for young people (ages 15-18) of different ethnic, religious, gender preference, geographic, and economic backgrounds. EFC provides youth with an experience in democratic living with the aim of helping them to become more thoughtful, informed, responsible and effective global citizens and leaders in the struggle for social justice.
