Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

As a non-profit health association keeping costs low and looking at diversified ways of getting income is crucial and critical for the organization's survival.

The BCHPCA is looking for a financial coordinator to support the Association's day-to-day financial needs and other financial tasks.

We are looking for two to three students to support us in the following projects:

  • 2022 Audit Review Process
  • 2023 and 2024 Budget compiling within Quickbooks Online
  • Financial Diversification/Stability Report
  • Financial analysis on past surveys that focus on financial means and doing a quantitative review

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

The final project should take the form of:

  • a report
  • a presentation
  • financial analysis
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students or interns will have the opportunity to work in a team environment and provide financial support to a non-profit organization making a difference on a provincial level. Students will have the opportunity to work in a team environment and have weekly meetings. This opportunity can turn into a paid position once with the association for 2 months of internship for a minimum of 15 hours a week.

What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?

We want students to help us with one or more of the following activities:

  • Document the current state of our staff and/or volunteer recruitment process, from the time the resource need is identified to the time the position is filled.
  • Create visualizations, i.e. Visio or data flow diagrams to help us identify strengths and pain points in our recruitment process.
  • Assess our current process and make recommendations for improvements and efficiencies.
  • Provide financial options to seek funding support

palliative care to British Columbians for over 34 years. Our members provide a broad range of hospice palliative care programs
and services to people in need across the province of BC and the Yukon who are dying, their loved ones who are grieving and caregivers. The services hospice societies deliver are accessible to all, regardless of the type of illness, age, sex, sexual orientation, race, culture and religious beliefs.
