Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Axis Forestry is looking for innovative students to help us create, edit & produce original video content to promote the launch of our new tree processor, called "The Rebel." We will ensure students are supported & have a clear understanding of the elements and scope of the project.

Located in Kamloops BC, Axis Forestry is the 1st North American company to manufacture the entire tree processor head and computer. September 2022 is the official launch of the Rebel Tree Processor and the 5th Gen Cypress Controller. Our goal is to increase our brand awareness and promote sales of our new products.

You will be working with a high energy, supportive team who encourages "out of the box" thinking. Axis Forestry's target demographic are loggers and as a company, we appreciate a good laugh- so this project offers a unique opportunity to get creative without too many constraints.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

We expect the student(s) will:

  • If students are local or located within reasonable proximity, shoot video footage on site at our production facility
  • If students are close to customer logging sites (travel reimbursement & per diems available), shoot video footage of our products at work at a logging site.
  • Use editing tools to create videos and/or graphics to be used within the video(s).
  • Generate ideas for marketing video(s) for the Rebel.
  • Produce content that is innovative, on-brand and engaging.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will work closely with the primary project manager who is available for questions. We are very responsive to MS Teams messaging - we'd rather you ask questions as you have them then have a project stall/get off track. We will have occasional progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.

Students will have the opportunity to come on site at our facility and/or customer locations as necessary and will be well supported by Axis Forestry staff throughout site visits.

Students will be provided with a crash course on tree processors and will be provided with industry data as required to complete the project.

Students should have access to editing software and camera required to carry out creative and editing tasks to fulfill the project.
