Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Our client is an established Ontario-based gaming company just putting the finishing touches on an action-RPG for PC and Xbox. Ontario Game Testers has been brought on board to conduct game testing to help the development team fix bugs and ensure the product can have a smooth and successful launch.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

In one week cycles, students will need to regularly:

  • Play through the game (between 5-10 hours playtime)
  • Share your impressions and screen recording of the first playthrough
  • Log bugs and feedback to an online bug tracker (Trello)
  • Confirm whether bugs are fixed when submitted by the development team
  • Help to reproduce bugs, working together with the game studio's developers

Requirements

  • You will need to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement)
  • You will need a steady internet connection capable of smooth streaming from Parsec (https://www.Parsec.app)
  • You will need an Xbox One or Xbox Series controller (wired or wireless).

How will you support learners in completing the project?
  • Mentoring from Ryan Miller, an experienced Game Designer
  • On-the-job training to become an effective Game Tester / QA Analyst
  • Interactive Ontario membership perks
  • Networking opportunities
  • Career support and guidance (limited to the Games/Animation/Interactive industry)
