Overview Of CultureBanked
CultureBanked as an idea stems from an interrelated set of values and learning about how we, as individuals and groups, own, manage and value the content that we create and ‘share’ online. Our aim is to build an ‘Action Lab’ of cooperating peers and others who can drive the project forwards along with its goals of using creative rights to ‘hold collective value’ and to ‘manage it in new ways which empower people within systems’. www.culturebanked.org
CultureBanked as a service aims to manifest the values behind the idea.
We are building a Community Rights Management service for artists, galleries, museums, collections, audiences and all associated in the Kendraio data browser. The service includes asset and rights management, sales and tax reporting functions and services to increase interoperability for users according to their changing needs.
Kendraio Framework
Kendraio App is a low-code app environment that lends itself to rapid application development. Kendraio was created to service the creative/music industry to enable easy asset and rights management both locally and on third-party platforms. But what we've ended up creating is a generic data browser that plugs into remote APIs and enables highly configurable interfaces to be built. And we'll use this framework as the basis of this project. Please check out these links before accepting this mission: Kendraio App demo, Kendraio App on GitHub, Kendraio App documentation, Kendraio App website. As you create this project your feedback will influence the direction and capabilities of the Kendraio framework
CultureBanked MVP: UX Design: ‘Personal Museum’ Develop Our Artists Asset Database
Details
We’re looking for UX/UI talent! Do you have a background or interest in user experience design or user interface design? You’ll be working with artists and rights owners on the concept of Community Rights Management to build out the features and benefits they identify as most necessary in the Kendraio App.
We’d love to see what you would do with the CultureBanked Community Rights Management Database: https://app.kendra.io/ .
We believe this project will require:
- Identifying, contacting and conducting interviews with potential users.
- Researching, understanding and possibly redefining Community Rights Management
- Consulting with developers and researching potential uses of API’s
- ‘Dev Ops’ for would be developers to demonstrate their skills on a live project.
- Project Management
The final deliverables include:
- A report on the findings from interviewing users and potential users
- Live, working data sets and models with new functions as identified and/or;
- Any other visualisation of your proposals for developing a rights management interface.
Your challenge submission can be an interactive mockup, flat wireframes, a functional website, a photoshop file or a live demo in our App. - whatever gets your vision across.
It is expected that the 'Personal Museum' team will work closely with other teams. Please feel free to be as creative as you like, but submissions must take into consideration the fundamental needs of potential users.
Working on the 'Personal Museum' for CultureBanked is an exciting opportunity to do something genuinely new in the field and enables a new generation of empowered creatives to be active online as individuals but more importantly as collectives as well. Integrations with crowdfunding sites and tax revenues will require design flair, strategic awareness, market and technical knowledge and awareness. As a truly interdisciplinary project we will work closely with team members to manage both the project and expectations. You will have total freedom and control to take the concept and to extend it. We welcome all inputs and ideas and feel this will be a place really challenge ourselves. Given this, we are respectful of the need to be safe and open when expressing ideas and working to develop them. We will consult with each team member to set individual goals and project goals and will review regularly, whilst maintaining daily access (Mon-Friday) for urgent calls and queries
About the company
CultureBanked was established in 2015 as a research project to explore ways of sharing intellectual property and creative assets in particular. We now work with a variety of people and organisations on modelling processes, systems, tools and interfaces to achieve this through interoperability and collaborative practice. We are working with kendra.io as a development partner to design a CultureBanked service in the Kendraio data browser. Our aim is to serve artists and rights managers of all backgrounds and sizes and to respond to and design for their changing needs.
