Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

We are a video production company looking to take our social media presence to the next level in order to drive traffic to our pages. To do this, we want to improve our search engine optimization and create compelling content that supports our company mission.


This will involve several different steps for the students, including:


  • Researching keywords to determine the most relevant terms that our customers search for
  • Researching Search Engine Optimization requirements & best practices for us to rank on the first page of Google
  • Researching trends on social media that would be fitting for our business
  • Attending networking events and/or productions to capture content for socials


Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Proficiency with video & photo editing software
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:


  • Created a list of the most relevant SEO keywords for us
  • Created a report of SEO practices to boost Google ranking
  • Attended networking events & productions to capture content
  • Created engaging social media posts in line with our mission
  • Delivered reports on trending topics for social media posts
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • What SEO keywords are being used by our company now, and which keywords have been used in the past?
  • How do we rank on Google based on different search terms?
  • When and how much do we typically post on social media?
  • What kind of content do we want to emulate?
  • Any questions about branding, mission statements etc.
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.


Students will have access too:


  • Canva pro account for content creation
  • Access to Adobe suite for Photoshop, Premiere, Aftereffects etc.




What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?

In order to complete this project, students can self-teach, but it is beneficial to be familiar with:

  • Digital marketing
  • Search engine optimization practices
  • Social media marketing strategies and trends
  • Content creation


Nice to haves for students include

  • Experience in backend SEO practices
  • Experience with video & photo editing software/apps


Again, students can complete this project without any of the prior knowledge listed here. Students will be expected to research and learn more about the above as the project goes along.
