Details

We are a start up company in the virtual medical space looking at trying to improve peoples lives with lifestyle application medication. Our initial offering will be medicated weight management In Alberta, then expansion into Ontario, British Columbia and other provinces. Once this programme is successful within each province we will look at extending our product offering to applications such as erectile dysfunction, alopecia, hormone therapy, etc..

We are looking to better understand how our target audience perceives our brand vs. competitors, understand marketing and product pitch strategies, what additional products or services could we add for services that aren’t currently meeting patients needs.  This analysis will clarity what our competitive advantages are, allow us to expand our product offerings and will help optimize our marketing strategy.

We are looking to collaborate with students to conduct a competitive analysis which will involve different steps for the students, including:

  • Familiarisation within the virtual medical space, specifically lifestyle applications
  • Familiarisation with our company, goals and current and future products.
  • Familiarisation with our competitors nationally and US based
  • Identifying potential products
  • Creating a matrix identifying features that are similar and different between companies.
  • Summarizing our competitive advantages and disadvantages relative to the competition identified.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Recommending how our company can differentiate itself through new innovative products / services.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should establish:

  • Familiarity with our company, products, and target vision
  • Identification of competitors
  • Creation of a matrix with competitor products, features, costs
  • Recommendation of new potential products being offered by competitors
  • Bonus steps would include:
  • Recommending ways to differentiate our company from competitors by introducing new, medicated products or services

Final deliverables should include

  • A final report covering the above.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project and we are there to support them through their project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our products and target market
  • Current vs. Future vision
  • Our known competitors
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
