The Peer Health Education Food Security Cookbook aims to bring awareness to the key issues related to food security in the post-secondary population and provide budget-friendly and thoughtful recipes for students. By the end of this project, a complete cookbook should be published.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

The Peer Health Education Food Security Cookbook project tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • research and collect evidence related to food and nutrition relevant to post-secondary populations (for example, sustainability, food waste, budgeting, eating well for learning, dispelling myths, etc.)
  • research and create a recipe bank with budget-friendly, food security framed recipes
  • create a "cookbook" framed through a food security lens
  • create a reference list
How will you support learners in completing the project?

The student working on this project will be able to meet with the supervision team weekly throughout their project period.

Essential reference materials related to food security and food and nutrition will be provided; however, additional research may be required.
