research recommender systems
Details

Our company built a proprietary recommender system to automate the parsing and bundling of a network of independent property appraisers in the domain of fine art and collectibles. The quality of the recommender output depends on data quality and growing the number of dimensions on which to run the recommender.

We would like to collaborate with students in researching appraiser profiles and data entry in our database.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Familiarizing themselves with our database structure.
  • Transferring data into our databases efficiently.
  • Verifying the accuracy of the data in our databases and making relevant updates.
  • Organizing and retrieving data as requested.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Providing assistance in establishing additional parameters to build better appraisal profiles for the recommender.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Familiarity with our databases
  • Efficient data transfer
  • Verification of data accuracy
  • Research of data sources

Bonus steps would include:

  • Assisting in creating new profile parameters for higher quality recommendations

Final deliverables should include

  • A 10-minute presentation.
