Subject:

Applicability of the new European Drone regulations to the world of model aircraft across the EU and EFTA countries.

What the project is about?:

The rationale for this topic to be promoted is to inform the European Aeromodeller’s community of the practical implications of the new European regulations for their hobby clearly and concisely.

Overall Goals for this project:

To explain in plain words, and with translations into some European languages how the model aircraft can operate in the open category under the new European Drone Regulations. Emphasise the many aspects aero models are still allowed to do, under the new rules, by this almost 100 years’ old aviation community.

We want students to help us build a marketing strategy plan to grow and engage our target audience (see below).

We’d like to know how we can maximize use of different channels and/or recur to new ones. Also, get recommendations to improve our messaging towards them.

Deliverables

Deliverables expected from the students

A concise report and an oral presentation on how students perceive our EASA’s marketing efforts in this aspect of the drone rules’ application

  • Content Type Needed (Depending on Funnel Requirements/ Audience)
  • How do students currently perceive our communication needs, based on the fact we need to enforce the rules but do not want to be seen as enforcer but rather as a facilitator.
  • What channels should we utilize for promotion, including ones we are not currently using?
  • What budget is appropriate for advertising, given our goals?
  • How could our messaging be updated to better explain our value proposition?
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with the employer (EASA) for mentorship and supervision throughout the project. Likewise, these is the possibility for students to connect with a selection of the stakeholders to get their first hand views and "pre-test" and get feedback on their proposals.
