Details

The Valid Dreams Foundation is seeking innovative solutions to overcome funding challenges while addressing societal issues, newcomer support, and social justice causes. This project invites students to collaborate in identifying and completing grant applications that align with the foundation's mission. Students will begin by familiarizing themselves with the organization’s vision and a specific community project. They will then develop a needs statement that characterizes the community problem and justifies the need for funding. The project involves identifying potential sponsors and funding opportunities that align with the foundation's goals. Additionally, students will work on enhancing the clarity and persuasiveness of the foundation's grant proposals. As a bonus, students may also explore new opportunities for community projects.

Deliverables

By the project's conclusion, students will deliver a comprehensive understanding of the foundation’s values and purpose, along with a detailed identification of potential sponsors and funding sources. They will provide recommendations for improving the grant proposal process. Deliverables will include a 10-30 minute presentation summarizing their findings and suggestions. Optionally, students may define new community projects with appropriate scopes, further contributing to the foundation's mission of fundraising.
