The project focuses on the intersection of genetics and nutrition, aiming to create personalized supplement formulations based on genetic profiles. Students will analyze 72 key genes that play crucial roles in biological pathways such as metabolism, detoxification, neurotransmitter function, and immune response. By understanding the functional genetic relationships, the goal is to develop customized supplements that optimize health outcomes for individuals. This project provides an opportunity for learners to apply their knowledge of genetics, biochemistry, and nutrition to real-world applications. The project is designed to be completed by a team of students from a single academic program, ensuring a cohesive skill set and collaborative environment.

Deliverables

Students will research nutrient-gene interactions, bioavailability, formulation science, and regulatory considerations to create evidence-based formulations that account for genetic variations and their interrelationships. The project will also explore delivery mechanisms, quality control, and potential AI-driven automation for personalized recommendations.
