Overview Of CultureBanked
CultureBanked as an idea stems from an interrelated set of values and learning about how we, as individuals and groups, own, manage and value the content that we create and ‘share’ online. Our aim is to build an ‘Action Lab’ of cooperating peers and others who can drive the project forwards along with its goals of using creative rights to ‘hold collective value’ and to ‘manage it in new ways which empower people within systems’. www.culturebanked.org
CultureBanked as a service aims to manifest the values behind the idea.
We are building a Community Rights Management service for artists, galleries, museums, collections, audiences and all associated in the Kendraio data browser. The service includes asset and rights management, sales and tax reporting functions and services to increase interoperability for users according to their changing needs.
Kendraio Framework
Kendraio App is a low-code app environment that lends itself to rapid application development. Kendraio was created to service the creative/music industry to enable easy asset and rights management both locally and on third-party platforms. But what we've ended up creating is a generic data browser that plugs into remote APIs and enables highly configurable interfaces to be built. And we'll use this framework as the basis of this project. Please check out these links before accepting this mission: Kendraio App demo, Kendraio App on GitHub, Kendraio App documentation, Kendraio App website. As you create this project your feedback will influence the direction and capabilities of the Kendraio framework
CultureBanked MVP: Business Development and Fundraising
Details
By working closely with specialist teams, you will be responsible for identifying and building out a case for specific areas of future strategic development for the project. This will enable you to use your skills in business development and fundraising to identify future workflows and to prioritize areas of work in order of needs and requirements.
We believe this project will require:
- Liaising with others working in the project to identify next steps overall
- Building a project outline which can go forwards to seek future funds
- Researching multi-sectoral needs and key areas for future development
The final deliverables include:
- Project outline or Business Plan using a Business Model Canvas or other suitable model
- A Fundraising Plan and at least one live funding application or crowdfunding campaign
The key attributes you will need to be successful in Fundraising and Business Development are communication (an ability to listen and observe what the main needs and requirements of our users and developers) strategic awareness (being able to target those needs and requirements to potential partners, funders, users and other possible stakeholders) and finally, you will be able to put all of these things together in intelligent, well explained, eye catching ways to build interest and support for the project.

Marketing and Fundraising for Culturebanked require the input of individuals with both strategic awareness and a genuine passion to work with social justice and social equity in their professional development. We will be interested to work with up to 3 individuals who will receive detailed training and co-production requiring their active inputs to develop the project as a whole and to transfer their ideas and learning into a plan for ongoing strategy and fundraising. We will want your ideas and value to be at the core of what we do and will be selecting carefully with a view to close supervision and 1-1 mentoring. Open communications, respect and well being are paramount especially when handling busy workloads and multiple tasks as you will be over-seeing all operations and co-planning for organisational development and change.
About the company
CultureBanked was established in 2015 as a research project to explore ways of sharing intellectual property and creative assets in particular. We now work with a variety of people and organisations on modelling processes, systems, tools and interfaces to achieve this through interoperability and collaborative practice. We are working with kendra.io as a development partner to design a CultureBanked service in the Kendraio data browser. Our aim is to serve artists and rights managers of all backgrounds and sizes and to respond to and design for their changing needs.
