- What is the main goal for this project?

• Build, test, and refine the Live to OwnTM Calculator. Live to OwnTM is a game changing, disruptive technology in real estate financing that sets renters up to be co-investors with their landlords. They earn a portion of the equity gain in the home they intend to own, during their last years as a renter. The Live to OwnTM Calculator we’ll build in this project will give applicants an instant screen view of the way their rent will relate to how they build equity in their home, and eventually qualify for a mortgage and become the owner.
- What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

1. Become familiar with Carpe Diem’s brand DNA – our target clientele, our Mission, Vision, and Values, our concept for inter-generational housing environments with intentional community, and our vision for the Live to OwnTM program and our online mortgage literacy course, and the Live to OwnTM Calulator that the student(s) will develop;
2. Complete the online Mortgage literacy course - requiring approx. 2 hours.
3. Study our Excel workbook of hypothetical sample housing investments that Live to OwnTM clients can make with our investors as landlord and investment partner .

First up, we need the Live to OwnTM program to ensure that young first home buyers can get into home ownership and join our inter-generational urban housing projects. Live to OwnTM is both a financial product for families (the “Bank of Mom and Dad”) helping their kids with their housing, and a marketing service to developers and investors that brings them ideal tenants for rental property. The next and final step in developing the Live to OwnTM program is the online and mobile-friendly Calculator that will instantly show an applicant how they can rent with an attainable option to purchase and a share of rising equity in the home of their choice.
