Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Local Grown Salads is implementing its Customer Layer Applications. These applications are designed to for specific customer types. They also common features and so we want to ensure a common technology base. The way the user may use the application feature will be different.

The five applications are:

  • LGS Distributor – intended for food distributors
  • LGS Manufacturing – intended for food manufacturers
  • LGS Retailer – intended for food retailers
  • LGS Food Service – intended for food service companies
  • LGS Consumer – intended for consumers
  • The applications integrate and are part of the LGS EcoSystem.

Some specific capabilities needed:

  • The Food Service company will have one or more distributors it purchases from. It is important that the Food Service/Distributor sales data is kept confidential. For example, if Foodservice BigQSR purchases from distributors JohnSmith and SusyBrown, Only JohnSmith can only see BigQSR purchases that BigQSR made from JohnSmith, and SusyBrown can only see BigBox purchased made from SusyBrown. BigBox can see both JohnSmith and SusyBrown transactions
  • The ability to connect the Food Service’s purchasing system to integrate into the Distributor’s sales system for Spot Production purchasing or additional long term purchasing. The goal is a purchase order created on the Retailer’s side is immediately added to the Distributor’s system and to LGS Farmer, stock is allocated, and delivery arranged. This purchasing will be based on rules built into LGS Farmer.

The following are the specific:

  • Quality feedback.
  • A QR code reader and reports
  • Bar code reader
  • Access commercial style recipes
  • Register for recall
  • To display all the details of the product like best before dates, specifications, and all the other dates when scanned.
  • To display the batches bought from the distributor and their dates.
  • To display the availability of stock from the distributor and manufacturer.
How will you support learners in completing the project?
