Details

Our goal is to reduce friction in the onboarding process for learners. As a learner, you join Riipen at the invitation of an educator or facilitator, join an experience, and from there find and start a project.

We want to make this process as short and seamless as possible to reduce effort on the part of the user, and to avoid confusion or potential escalations to support.

Deliverables
  1. Project Plan- Identify milestones and set a timeline for the project
  2. Review requirements and existing designs- Familiarize themselves with the existing product to understand the requirements, design work, and feedback that already exists, and to identify gaps to be filled in the next stage.
  3. User interviews - Conduct interviews with other users of the Riipen platform in the cohort
  4. Summarize findings - Written summary of findings from own analysis and interviews
  5. Wireframing - Produce low fidelity mockups to put recommendations into practice
  6. Finalize- Handoff all deliverables and findings in a package that allows for your work to be easily understood and incorporated into future projects.

Deliverables:

  • Usability testing- summary of key findings and recommendations, or documentation of testing sessions to understand users’ experience of and interaction with your product
  • Redesign and/or redesign recommendations- design improved flows for the distinct user types. Workshop ideas and turn those into wireframes or mockups that show exactly how the solution could work
Mentorship
  • Preparation of any relevant resources and assets in advance of the kick off call
  • Demo or recorded walkthrough of existing functionality if desired
  • Explanation of must-have requirements and technical restrictions
  • Overview of past changes and how current version evolved
  • A regular weekly check-in call
  • Reasonably responsive throughout the collaboration to unsure progress is not blocked.
  • Allow the learners to share the work they do for us in job search materials
