Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

We want students to help The LifeLine Canada Foundation (TLC) build a detailed marketing strategy plan for further funding for program development, as well as to grow and engage our target markets for resources: persons requiring support due to a history of depression/suicidal ideation; Mental health supporting agencies; volunteers with Mental Health background, and/or a passion for Therapy Dogs and/or key administrative skill sets; and philanthropic supporters for access to goods, funds, or services. We would like to know how we can maximize use of different channels and get recommendations to improve our messaging.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

A detailed report and possible 15 to 30-minute presentation on:

  • How do students (as a representative sample of the public) currently perceive our brand and marketing, based on publicly available information about our company?
  • What channels should we utilize for promotion, including ones we are not currently using?
  • Given we are non-profit, what are the opportunities for no cost or low-cost marketing strategies
  • If necessary, what budget is recommended to support low-cost marketing
  • How could our messaging be updated to better explain our short, medium, and long-term objectives to engage the public in our mission and vision?

Other duties may include commencing implementation of the plan by drafting Key Messages, outlining objectives towards achieving the plan, and identifying specific media for relay of the Key Messages.
