Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

The learner will develop skills in planning programs directed at youth (school-aged children or families with young children) to share information about science, sustainability, and STEM in general. The learner will develop lesson plans and individual activities for these programs, create teaching materials, handouts, crafts, games and other content to help youth learn through hands-on activities.

The learner will also learn behaviour management techniques, develop project and time management skills, and learn to work within a team.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Shadow current employees to learn techniques at our organization for program development and delivery.

Review current library of programs and activities; work side-by-side with colleagues to deliver programs and refine activities.

Create new content and activities in the science, sustainability and STEM areas for youth.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

Employees have access to our extensive library of resources, lesson plans and equipment. Daily check-in meetings with the Executive Director.

Working with colleagues on new programs, team-teaching, and shadowing to learn program delivery approaches.

Opportunities for learning new skills and work with technologies available based on projects and work to be completed.
