What is the main goal for this project?

We’re looking for a student to help us source, curate, develop, and implement an Education Days Grief and Bereavement event. we hope to increase awareness and nurture engagement around the grief and bereavement industry in BC/Yukon.

This will be a 1 1/2 day event where speakers, presenters and training will take place and discuss grief and bereavement with those in the field.

The student will be responsible for supporting our Education and Program Coordinator in building the marketing and sponsorship strategy to bring attendees and funding to the event in early fall.

The Event Marketing Intern will help and support the Education and Program Coordinator in the following tasks:

1. Define goals and objectives.

2. Establish an event budget.

3. Build your events volunteer team.

4. Develop event branding.

5. Plan your program.

6. Confirm sponsors, exhibitors, and speakers.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Based on our goals, we are looking for the student to work on the following:

  • Content Calendar Curation: timely deployment of all our social media content to drive maximum traffic to our site.
  • Event marketing administration and support.
  • Content Development.
  • Other marketing-related tasks.
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will work closely with the Education & Program coordinator who is supervising and available for questions. This will also include occasional progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.

What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?

Social Media Management, Membership databases and Communication tools.
