What is the main goal for this project?

In the field of Property Management it is extremely difficult to create happy customers, due to the complex nature of collecting rent, midnight maintenance emergencies and other delays due to the volume of communication that occurs.

While Upper Edge Property Management has a social media account on Facebook and Instagram, we only post about once per week, and it is only a weekly instructional property management video for landlords. We need to engage our tenants to foster a feeling of community and we feel having regular "feel good" type posts on Facebook and Instagram is necessary.

Our goal is to have a student create a social media marketing plan for Facebook and Instagram, specifically catered to tenants, with the aim of engaging them to feel like they are appreciative to be living in a property managed by Upper Edge.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

  • Conducting research of existing Facebook and other internet resources of successful property management companies
  • Creating a social media strategy, including how often to post, what type of post (static, reel, "feel good", informative, what kind of graphics, etc
  • Suggest the best platform to plan out a social media content calendar

Final deliverables should include:

  • Social media strategy document
  • Example templates created or sourced from Canva
  • Social media content calendar
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will work directly with our Marketing Manager. There will be weekly check-in meetings, in addition to Zoom Q&A sessions.
