- What is the main goal for this project?

We are looking for assistance in sourcing biodegradable, compostable or fully recyclable packaging and eco-friendly business swag items. We are a sustainable start-up company that needs assistance making sure these items are sustainable, functional, cost effective and brandable.
Items we require assistance in, are as follows:
Packaging
- Product Packaging
- Product Sample Packaging
- Mailer Packaging
Swag - Sweatshirts, Jogging Pants, Socks, Mugs, Matches.
Be creative we would love to hear any other ideas!
Requirements:
- Either fully recyclable, compostable or biodegradable (packaging)
- Swag must be sustainable
- Ability to have custom colours so we can match our brand colours
- Can add our logo/ design
- Most cost effective options
- Is lightweight for shipping
- First order of approximately 6-10k units (packaging)
- Would accommodate purchasing smaller orders (10-20 units) to start (swag)
- Packaging within Canada
- What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

1. Deliver a final recommendation to our business regarding the packaging options we have to solve our current business need via a written report.
- Effects of "normal" packaging on sustainability and why the various you provide are better
- Compare various packaging to other competitors
- Investigate what other companies and competitors are successfully using
2. Provide a list of places to source these items along with contact information. Ensure they meet requirements.
3. Provide a detailed spreadsheet of swag items
- Item (including your own ideas)
- Supplier
- How they are sustainable
- Ensure they meet our requirements (customizable colour, add logo, small batch orders)

Students will connect directly with the employer for mentorship and supervision throughout the project.
We will hold an introductory meeting so you chat with us and ask any questions, we will go through our packaging and swag expectations during this meeting. Will explain our product and go through what we have researched already for packaging and swag.
We will hold meetings to discuss different aspects of the project as needed. Share any resources needed. We will be available by email and phone for any questions.
