PNI Therapeutics has developed the first digiceutical, software as medicine, to increase the efficacy of standard of care chemotherapy infusion treatments, with the immersive power of Virtual Reality (VR). PNI Thrive is a 10 minute guided visualization, lightly interactive VR experience that patients experience while they are administered their chemotherapy infusion treatments or while they are undergoing other complementary & alternative care therapies for cancer. Viewers are taken on a journey and transported into an ethereal place to relax their mind and body. By combing the immersive power of VR and creative visualization, along with lightly interactive game-play mechanics, viewers are empowered to unleash the power of their immune system by directing T-Cells to defeat and eliminate cancerous cells within their body. This powerful visualization will complement and enhance standard of care treatments prescribed by physicians. The goal is to improve treatment outcomes for patients; to quicken their recovery, reduce mortality, and lower the total cost of treatment by increasing the efficacy of pharmaceuticals through the immersive power of Virtual Reality.
PNI Therapeutics needs students to analyze data and write an academic research paper of a small clinical trial of 22 cancer patients who have used their VR application at an alternative and complementary care oncology clinic. All data is expected to be collected by October 15, 2021.
