In this project, a team of students will complete an analysis of your current work environment and develop strategic recommendations for developing or improving a Health and Wellness Program.

This course provides students with the opportunity to work with a hands-on project on a relevant topic area. This is an experiential course and it is designed to foster critical thinking and real-time decision-making, with students applying their knowledge and skills to the challenge at hand. We are beginning the Fall semester September 2023, completion will be by mid-December 2023.We have a confidentiality agreement with all “clients”. In addition, the work becomes the intellectual property of the “client” so we don’t share it with others- it is theirs.

The students will work on a strategic business unit and/or a new product idea in a company. They will use industry standard methods to conduct in-depth analysis of the business environment and develop strategies. The strategies can be related to the development of generic business strategies, strategies for international/domestic expansion, corporate level strategies, strategies about managing innovation, strategies about ethics and social responsibility, among others.The project is flexible and may include the needs of the company regarding strategy. Related business areas outside the area of this course/expertise of the supervisor may also be considered given the company has resources to guide such a project and the students have the interest in it.

Students will integrate knowledge gained throughout the program - including leadership and management principals, analytical skills, data visualization, data mining, and statistics – to complete the capstone project. By taking this course, students will be guided through the process of developing their soft (communications) and hard (Technical) skills while delivering a business analytics project to support decision making in organizations. The emphasis will be on the application of methodologies and analytical tools to solve real-world problems in R&D, marketing, supply chain, healthcare, finance and/or other disciplines.

Public health units rely on different groups of health-care workers to collectively support the health-care needs of individuals in their communities. In this project, students will connect with a participating local public health unit and conduct an informational survey to collect data on the different types of health-care workers that work in the unit. They will also identify challenges and develop recommendations for improvement.

With the aging population, the demands on health-care workers in long-term care facilities is ever increasing. In this project, students will work in groups of four to six to learn about the working conditions of a participating long-term care facility in their community. Students will conduct research on the realities of working in this type of facility. They will collect quantitative and qualitative data in an effort to develop recommendations for improvement.

This semester a group of students will spend 100hours per group analysing an organizational challenge of your choice and developing a strategy to help you address your challenge. Based on information you provide, each team will deliver an action plan that incorporates your unique circumstances and outlines a path to more efficient and effective operations.The majority of the students in the Post Baccalaureate Capstone Course are International Students with a variety of undergraduate degrees mostly from India.

They will conduct a comprehensive literature review and investigate a specific human resource topic on behalf of a Client (business organization). Any potential gaps between the literature and the practical application of the Client’s proposed topic will be identified and recommendations made for improvement.

This course is an excellent opportunity for students to practice problem-solving skills. The course uses Python as the analytical tool to formulate and solve problems based on a variety of mathematical modelling techniques. Companies can define projects in data visualization, data analytics, database systems, data analysis, cloud-based services, software development, and general business analytics projects.

Students have also covered key leadership theories, ethics in leadership, leadership development, succession planning, and gender and leadershipStudents will be able to think critically about organizational leadership phenomena and will be able to analyze typical organizational leadership problems and develop solutions in a project for your organization.

Students at from Cape Breton University will work on effective leadership training issues for your organization.Through their studies, students have delved deeply into the phenomenon of leadership by discussing major leadership theories, boundary conditions of those theories, and by considering practical techniques for implementation. Through this course students from Cape Breton University have gained a thorough understanding of financial management theory with a focus on the application of project evaluation methods and financing decisions. Students will be able to support your organization with financial analysis and planning, valuation of assets, long-term capital budgeting, capital structure decisions, and the effect of taxes on the firm’s financing and investment decisions.Students will also bring knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and/or International Financial Reporting Standards to your project, along with the necessary knowledge to assess financial decisions analytically, in both the corporate, as well as in the community development settings.
