Deliverables

Students will submit a 15-20 page report with enumeration of forecasting techniques used, any other high-level project components worth being mentioned, supporting graphs and tables, and recommendations.

Organizations also have the option to have the team make a presentation of their findings.

Project Examples

Before analyzing your data, students will work with you to identify your forecasting goals: how forecasts should be presented and at what frequency, intended end-users of these forecasts, who and how forecasts will be maintained. The students will provide you with an analysis and recommendations on issues of your choice.

Possible projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing historical buyer data to identify key target markets or new business development opportunities.
  • Analyzing available industry data to identify market trends
  • Identifying trends and patterns in your sales cycle
  • Identifying trends in demand to help with forecasting
  • Identifying 1-3 forecasting techniques that will predict future outcomes of interest to the organization
