human resource management program evaluation communication researchFourth-year Human Resources Management students will explore issues and evaluate the impact and efficiency of a proposed HR program toward an organizational objective. Students will compile and present recommendations to inform leaders and other stakeholders about workforce metrics and program evaluation findings.
The major learning outcomes of this project could include:
- Apply methods of program evaluation to determine the impact and/or efficiency of an HR program.
- Construct communications to disseminate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Identify appropriate human resources metrics/analytics to answer HR evaluation questions.
- Describe ethical and practical issues in HR program evaluation.
Students will prepare a detailed report with research, analysis, insights and recommendations on the proposed HR program. Students will also develop and present a 15-20 minute presentation summarizing their final report.

Project Examples
The emphasis of these projects is for students to experience how research, analysis and evaluation are applied within workplace settings and/or addressing industry challenges. As a guide to consider what projects your organization would be interested in submitting, below are some examples of potential projects:
- Evaluating the success of implemented programs such as an employee health and wellness program, employee retention program or workplace safety program.
- Create and conduct an internal employee survey on a proposed HR program and provide an analysis of insights and recommendations based on the results.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Will a mentor be able to commit to regularly meeting with student(s) and providing input and feedback for the duration of the project?
You agree to provide your team with mid-project and end-of-project feedback.
You agree to attend an in-person class to present the project to the class and attend final student presentations in-person.
