Overview
Details

Students in York University's Digital Marketing Certificate program will work in groups of 4 to develop a comprehensive digital marketing strategy for your organization. Each group will analyze your company's current digital marketing strategy (i.e. content planning, social media channels, and KPIs) and propose methods and content to optimize the strategy.

Deliverables

The final project deliverable will include:

  1. A PowerPoint presentation detailing the current analysis, recommended solutions, and a roadmap.
  2. Content plan across multiple platforms that includes a guide for creating social posts in the future.
  3. Example of social media posts and accompanying content.
Project Examples

Based on your company's current needs and objectives, students will develop a customized social media strategy. The plan can be designed from scratch or be built off your existing strategy. Students will loosely follow a template.

The strategy may include, but is not limited to:

  • Conducting an audit of your current social media presence across all social channels
  • Conducting an assessment of the effectiveness of your current communication channel(s)
  • Establish SMART goals
  • Developing strategies for improving your online presence by recommending programs, tools, methods of engagement, channels, communication pieces, etc.
  • Creating example social media posts
  • Roadmap for strategy implementation

Providing students with access to your social channels and web analytics will ensure they understand how your organization's marketing activities are tagged and tracked, and allow them to measure performance consistently across all marketing channels.

NOTE: This cohort of students will be working on another Riipen assignment - email marketing automation - immediately following this one (as part of the same Certificate in Digital Marketing). The marketing automation assignment runs from June 10th - July 22nd, and you can find full assignment details here: https://app.riipen.com/experiences/1670/details

If you are interested in working with students on both social media marketing and email marketing automation, there is an opportunity to participate in both assignments with the same cohort of students.
