Deliverables

Guarding Minds at Work is a free assessment.

Employers are asked to complete the 13 worksheets, one for each psychosocial factor, over a video/telephone interview with a student or a pair of students.

Employer will provide their availability for students to adjust their schedule to meet with the client over a one-time interview ranging from one to two hours, depending on how detailed your answers are.

(Optional) With your permission, students would like to interview a few employees, which will take about twenty minutes. The Employee Survey Statements will be anonymous, having the employee rate each question:

  • 1 – Never if the statement is never true
  • 5 – Always only if you believe this statement would be true in every instance
  • 2-4 – Rarely, Sometimes, or Often if this better represents the frequency to which you believe the statement would be true.


Expected outcomes:

  • results from the surveys and worksheets of how well the company is "guarding minds" at work
  • suggestions on how to improve psychological health and safety in the workplace




Project Examples
  • Students can design, implement, and evaluate effective health promotion strategies and programs as part of an organization’s overall risk management.
  • Students focus on the requirements of creating a safe workplace environment through the interpretation and application of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and related safety legislation, including WHMIS/GHS.

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Are you able to meeting with a student(s) for a one to two hour phone call/video interview to fill out a survey?

Will you allow a few of your workers to complete a survey that will take twenty minutes?
